Our Tamil department aims to provide opportunities for Tamil pupils to use spoken Tamil in their daily lives. Besides using spoken Tamil, pupils will also be aware of the cultural heritage prevalent in our Indian culture.
Various programmes were arranged for the pupils to use spoken Tamil by the school.

| Learning Journey |

Our East Zone 4 Tamil Cluster Group organized a learning journey to Vishnu Dairy Farm for all the Primary 5 and 6 Tamil pupils. Pupils were able to gain first hand experience of life in a dairy farm. They were also made aware of the importance given to cows in Indian culture.

| Deepavali Show |
|
In this first story of Deepavali, the pupils from primary 3, 5 and 6 levels staged a short drama depicting Lord Krishna killing the demon Naragasura.
Eventually in the end, Lord Krishna lights up the lives of the people who lived in darkness due to Naragasura¡¯s evil deeds.

| Cluster activities |
|
Schools in the cluster organised a Tamil Camp for our P3 and P4 Tamil pupils. The objective of this camp is to promote Spoken Tamil. The camp was held on 12 November 2007 at Telok Kurau Primary School. Pupils took part in various activities planned by the teachers at the various stations. They had opportunities to interact with pupils from other schools too.
